'78 Forever

The Class of '78 was immortalized on October 21, 2008 -- the 34th anniversary to the day of the Prince original appearance of the first Oval with Points cartoon --  by the installation of its "Ivy Stone" in the west wall of Nassau Hall.  The stone was dedicated on October 25. CHECK OUT THE SLIDE SHOW (OR LOG IN AND GO TO THE PHOTO ALBUM) TO SEE THE EXCAVATION OF NASSAU HALL, THE INSTALLATION OF OUR IVY STONE AND ITS STAINLESS STEEL LINER, AND THE CEREMONY WHERE WE DEDICATED BOTH!

Class President's Letter

Dear ’78er,
Instead of writing a long and serious letter about what your new class officers intend to do, or how pleased I am to be class President again, or about how great our 30th Reunion was and how much I enjoyed seeing those of you who made it back and how much we all missed the rest of you, I thought I would like to start my presidency with some invitations.

PLEASE COME BACK TO PRINCETON ON OCTOBER 25TH.
Why? So you can be at the planting of our class ivy!!! Yes, the University is once again allowing classes to plant ivy on Nassau Hall and we will be planting our ivy the morning of the Harvard game. Given our long-term relationship with Oval With Points, we will plant our ivy on the Nassau Hall wall facing “our” Henry Moore statue at 10:30 a.m. on October 25! Our stone, designed by our intrepid and, as of our 30th Reunion dinner, official logo-ist Paul Laud, will make clear why our ivy is planted where it is.

As if that were not cool enough, we will actually be the first class to become part of Nassau Hall when we plant our ivy! The University has figured out how to engrave each of our names on the back of the stone and, so, when our Oval With Points stone is installed, our class will be the first one ever to actually be part of Nassau Hall

Oh, yes, and after you help us dedicate our ivy, we hope you will join us for a tailgate party at BJ Katen-Narvell’s home on Prospect and for the Harvard game.

PLEASE UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION AT PRINCETON78.COM.
Given how short the time is between now and October 25, and how much easier it will be to post you on the details of this momentous event by email,

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, update your email address – and all of your directory information – at Princeton78.com. Although we sync with the University periodically, this is the best and easiest way to write to you, and, if you want to know more about the ivy planting … or the rest of what we will be doing as a class in the near future … please go straight to Princeton78.com! Tech support (support@reuniontechnologies.com or 609-924-0925) can help you with any problems you might have. Oh, yes, and if you are using an alumni.princeton.edu address, there is another way you can help us communicate with you. These addresses are pass-through accounts and, frequently, people who change their email addresses forget to reset their alumni.princeton.edu forwarding instructions. So, please either make sure the University has the correct forwarding address or, better still, please just give us the address you use day-to-day.

PLEASE PAY YOUR CLASS DUES.
The one bit of business I do have to do is to invite you to pay your class dues. After all, it is those dues that keep PAW coming and that enable us to do things like memorialize ourselves on the walls of Nassau Hall!

With best regards and a
TIGER, TIGER, TIGER FOR THE GREAT CLASS OF 1978,
